Around the world the Elantra is Hyundai's most popular car.  Pleasingly unique and curvy styling, impressive refinements and Hyundai’s five-year/130,000km warranty give the Elantra plenty of appeal as well as making it an excellent value-for-money proposition.

Elantra has a unique look with a wavy shoulder line running from front to rear, deliberately avoiding the aggressive look of many small cars. The rounded theme continues inside with a curving dash and door bins with bottle-holding bulges.

The cabin is big and comfortable, with interior surfaces that have a pleasant softness and texture. Anything that cannot be stored in the cabin will have plenty of space in the 405-litre boot.

The Elantra keeps its act together on the road. It demonstrates reserves of torque from the 2.0-litre VVT engine while delivering excellent fuel consumption figures. The manual gearbox is light but positive enough to satisfy keen drivers while the four-speed automatic is refined and works well with the torquey engine.

The power steering is electric for reduced fuel consumption. It has a good road feel and becomes more self-centering as speed rises, yet it's still very light at parking speeds.
