The Sonata’s styling is smart and appealing. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, remote central locking and alarm, 60/40 split-fold rear seat, cruise control, power windows, CD stereo, steering wheel controls and front fog lights.

Six-airbags, active front headrests, stability and traction control and disk brakes with ABS are also standard.

With a steering wheel that adjusts four ways and a powered driver's seat, it's easy to find a satisfactory driving position. Strong four-wheel discs with electronic anti-lock system and brake force distribution optimise the braking force at each wheel.

Delivering 173kW of power and 304Nm of torque, the 3.3-litre, double overhead camshaft, 24-valve V6 engine pulls strongly. Sonata is quiet too, with the low-revving V6 reaching 100km/hr cruising speed at just 1900 rpm.

The cabin conveys a feeling of quality with dark tones for door and dash tops, light below. The layout is practical and all five seats enjoy excellent visibility and generous legroom. The boot capacity is a useful 462 litres and the cabin has plenty of storage spaces.
